Description

Short

Nekosekai is an idle RPG that lives above your Windows taskbar. A party of cats fights endless waves in a transparent strip at the bottom of your screen, levelling and looting while you get on with your day.

Long

Most idle games ask for a window and your attention. Nekosekai asks for 120 pixels above your taskbar.

The game runs as a transparent, always-on-top strip docked to the bottom of the screen. While idle it is click-through — the mouse passes straight to whatever is behind it — and it never takes keyboard focus, so it can sit there all day beside your actual work without interrupting it. When you want to play, one click on the anchor opens the full interface: a hero sheet with nine equipment slots, a stash, item synthesis and crafting, a rune tree of permanent upgrades, and a world map for jumping between cleared stages.

Underneath the small footprint is a full auto-battler. Your cats hold a formation where the front slots take the hits and the back slots deal damage from range; melee cats step out to meet what's coming while archers and casters hold the line. Waves never stop, bosses arrive on a timer, gear drops in chests that stack above the party until you click them open, and progress keeps accruing while the game is closed.
